Project Proposal

I propose to use Rhino8 to design a functional shower chair suited to the needs of individuals with disabilities. Although some individuals find that their shower chairs are well suited to their needs, others have grievances. While speaking to individuals with disabilities, they complained of chairs rusting, being unstable, being uncomfortable for people who weigh over 200 pounds, and having difficulty transferring into their shower chair from their wheelchair. By looking into the shower chairs they are using and analyzing their grievances, I will design a shower chair that is better suited to their needs.

Design Goals

*Adequate back support​

*Adjustable settings, to ensure the able to seat all kinds of bodies and fit in a variety of showers​

*Provides storage for soap and shampoo​

*Stable legs​

*Safe and comfortable for people weighing over 200lbs​

*Durable and anti-corrosion​

*Allows people to easily transfer from wheelchairs​

*Does not result in a wet/slippery floor
